Emergency details: GP name and contact information, emergency contact (where relevant).
Payment information: invoices, bank details (for processing payments).
Clinical information: assessment notes, case notes, and any information you share during sessions.
Sensitive data: information about your mental and physical health, ethnicity, and relevant history.
3. How I Use Your Information Your information is used for:
Providing therapy sessions.
Managing appointments, payments, and communication.
Maintaining clinical records in line with BABCP professional standards.
Reviewing progress through treatment reviews.
Ensuring your safety, including contacting your GP or emergency services if there is serious risk of harm.
I do not share your information with third parties for marketing or any non-clinical purpose.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing I process your information under the following lawful bases:
Contract: to provide the therapy service you have requested.
Legal obligation: to comply with UK law (e.g. safeguarding, court orders).
Vital interests: if there is risk of serious harm to you or others.
Legitimate interests: to maintain records and supervise practice as required by BABCP.
5. Confidentiality Your information is kept confidential. The only exceptions are:
Where I believe there is risk of serious harm to you or others.
If required by law or court order.
For prevention or detection of crime.
In anonymous discussion with my professional supervisor (no identifying details are shared).
6. How I Store Your Information
Paper records (if any) are kept in locked storage.
Electronic records are password protected and stored securely.
Session notes are brief and factual, and kept separately from contact details.
Information is retained for up to 7 years after our work ends (in line with professional guidance) and then securely destroyed.

Request a copy of the information I hold about you.
Ask me to correct inaccurate information.
Ask me to erase information (where legally appropriate).
Restrict or object to processing of your data.
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your data is handled.
Email/WhatsApp are used for scheduling and general queries only. These are not fully secure platforms, so please avoid sending sensitive clinical details outside of sessions.
I will not record sessions without your written consent.
I will never use your information for social media or marketing purposes.
